Adorable Ants!!!

Image
Ant, what a intelligent and strong creature! (and a small one too😂) By the way, you know few of them from the movie "ANT-MAN"! Carpenter ants don’t carry disease, but when building a nest inside a home, Carpenter ants dig smooth tunnels inside the wood. These ants will eat almost anything, including insects, grease, seeds, honeydew, honey, bread, meats, nuts and cheese.  The sting of a red imported fire ant is painful and often results in a raised welt that becomes a white blister.  There are more than 12,000 species of  ants   all over the world.  An   ant   can lift 20 times its own body weight.  Some queen   ants   can live for many years and have millions of babies! Ants   don't have ears.  When   ants   fight, it is usually to the death! THAT'S IT FOR TODAY!! KEEP READING!! **********************************************************************

Forgiving Fish!!!

Image
Fish, the most wonderful and lively creature! (sometimes wild and dangerous too😂) Most fish species use their eyes to spot food. Some are even able to see microscopic food items like plankton. A fish's eyes are usually located toward the top of the head. This results in a tendency to eat prey that is above the fish. (You'll want to take advantage of this by presenting most lures and baits slightly above the fish's eye level.) A fish hears by using bones in its head called otoliths. The hearing system then sends information to the brain. Nerve endings form a line on both sides of fish. This sense is called the lateral line. You can see it on some species if you look closely. Species such as trout, salmon, and catfish have an excellent sense of smell. For this reason, anglers who target them fish with heavily scented or stinky baits. Fish often produce tens of thousands of eggs. Of these, only an extremely small percentage (perhaps 1 in 10,000) ever make it to adulthood. Tha...

Steady Squirrels!!!

Image
Squirrel, what a quick creature! (but not as good as lightening😂) Squirrels can find food buried beneath a foot of snow .  Squirrels may pretend to bury a nut to throw off potential thieves. Squirrels may lose 25 percent of their buried food to thieves. A squirrel’s front teeth never stop growing. They zigzag to escape predators. A newborn squirrel is about an inch long. Squirrels are acrobatic, intelligent, and adaptable.  They get bulky to stay warm during the winter. Squirrels don’t dig up all of their buried nuts, which results in more trees! American Mr.Beaks (Birds)!!!

Image
American bird, what a cheerful and joyful creature! (also can't forget it's weird habits😂) Fighting Its Own Reflection -  Some birds are known to fight their own reflections in a window, vehicle mirror, or chrome hubcap. It is believed that these males see the reflection as a competing bird and attack it in an attempt to drive it off. Often this aggressive behavior continues for a couple of days, but sometimes it goes on for months at a time!  Using Tools - These birds are renowned for their architectural tools making work!   Fearless Snake Hunting -  The roadrunner uses a bizarre method to hunt venomous snakes. It will fluff its feathers, spread its wings, and taunt the snake to strike! A roadrunner will make a snake strike three or four times to wear it down or continue to taunt until the striking stops. At that point, the roadrunner uses its large bill as a weapon and strikes the snake’s head a couple of times! Mixing Up Some Eggs -  Some birds not on...

Spectacular Seals!!!

Image
Seal, what a slow creature! (and a fat one too😂) Seals are semiaquatic marine mammals. They have four flippers, so are in a category of animals known as PINNIPEDIA  which means 'fin-footed'. Seals are believed to have evolved from land based, bear or otter-like ancestors. A seal's whiskers help it to detect prey in dark murky waters. Because they can spend months at sea, seals can sleep underwater. Some seal species can hold their breath for nearly two hours underwater by slowing their heart beat and conserving oxygen. About once a year a female seal, called a cow, gives birth to one pup on land. THAT'S IT FOR TODAY!! KEEP READING!! *************************************************************

Robust Rabbits!!!

Image
Rabbit, what a cute little creature! (sometimes, seriously cute😂) Rabbits are very social creatures that live in groups. They live in warrens (burrows)   — a series of tunnels and rooms that they dig underground. A rabbit’s teeth never stop growing! Instead, they’re gradually worn down as the rabbit chews on grasses, wildflowers and vegetables — meaning they never get too long.  A rabbit’s best feature? Their long ears! Rabbits can turn their ears by 180 degrees, keeping a careful listen out for predators. Also there is a gross feature of rabbits! when they eat something, the food's digestion is done only 50%, so eventually they excrete their food and eat it again! What a gross! Also there is a great quote on bunnies: "WISE BUNNIES KNOW THAT  THE CARROT WON'T HELP THEM HOP" THAT'S IT FOR TODAY!! Caring Chameleon!!!

Image
Chameleon what a camouflaging king! (which can never be trusted🤣) A chameleon sits motionlessly on a tree branch. Suddenly its sticky, two-foot-long tongue snaps out at 13 miles an hour, wrapping around a cricket and whipping the yummy snack back into the reptile’s mouth. (Now that’s fast food dining!😂)  The chameleon’s swift eating style is just one of its many features that’ll leave you tongue-tied. Chameleons mostly live in the rain forests and deserts. The color of their skin helps them blend in with their habitats. (making them the camouflaging  king!!😎)  All chameleons have a prize pair of eyes. Their peepers can move in two different directions at once, giving the lizards a panoramic view of their surroundings. This eye-popping reptile  really knows how to scale up the cool factor.
